Hydrogen as a fuel gained its potential fame due to its high energy content and low or negligible carbon emissions. The biohydrogen is considered to be green hydrogen unlike other traditional process, and has envisioned to be zero carbon emissions, even it can be claimed as negative carbon emission during bio-photolysis process conducted by photo-bacteria. The waste biomass such as agro-waste if subjected to bio-fermentation as feedstock can address to all the rising questions of environmental threat. The surging environmental problem can be resolved without causing any more susceptibility of this agro-waste toward carbon emission via natural putrefaction or anthropogenic activities. This shows biohydrogen potential as an alternative energy resource for environmental wellness. This chapter deals with present biohydrogen production aspects and factors affecting the processes and how the system can be subjected for the environmental wellbeing as well as commercial bottlenecks.

摘要
