This chapter examines the special education teacher policy in China. With the continuous advancement of teacher education, the professional quality of special education teachers has become an important factor in improving the quality of special education. Through the analysis of relevant policies concerning special education teachers in China, it has been found that many national policies since the founding of China refer to special education teachers, particularly highlighting special education in recent years and focusing on the professional development of these teachers. However, there are some issues in special education regulations, such as the absence of a fundamental law like the “Special Education Law,” a low legal status, and vague content. In light of these problems, suggestions are proposed to improve legislation, emphasize the combination of theory and practice, and enhance the use of authoritative tools.

This chapter examines the special education teacher policy in China.
