This section utilizes Chinese data to summarize the processes and theoretical reflections of Chinese scholars or Sino-foreign collaborative efforts in conducting fieldwork under modern societal conditions. The work in this area varies over time, and different historical events may not necessarily be connected. However, in terms of the professionalism of fieldwork awareness and methods, there are comparable aspects between them. Through thinking and reflection, we can gain a clearer understanding of the characteristics of Chinese scholars’ fieldwork, maintain our strengths, and learn from external experiences.
