Field Research on Village Opera at Dingxian Country in Hebei Province on Northern China by Sino-American Scholars in 1989–1998
摘要
From 1990 to 1999, Professor David E. G. Earl, an American historian, and I conducted a collaborative investigation into the relationship between the peasant performances of the Dingxian Yangge in Ding County, Hebei, and the book “Selected Dingxian Yangge Operas.” In 1987, David Earl initiated his research on “Selected Dingxian Yangge Operas” in the United States, treating it as a source for the intellectual history of lower-class people in modern Chinese society.
