In today’s global economy, Thai organizations expanding abroad now require strong global leadership and cross-cultural skills. This preliminary study used a qualitative approach to examine the cross-cultural competencies of global leaders in Thai organizations. Ten executives, managers, department heads, and team leaders with at least 10 years of experience in global leadership roles were interviewed between March and May 2025. Findings revealed three themes. The first theme, openness to intercultural understanding, focuses on respect for partners’ cultural norms and business practices. The second, cultural awareness in Thai and international business identifies Thai traits; such as, friendliness, service-mindedness, and adaptability as business assets. The third, leading with cultural competence describes the ability to integrate local and global perspectives to manage diversity. Insights show the need to blend local and global views to bridge cultures and lead.
