Echinococcosis has a long history dating back to ancient times. The disease has been controlled in five nations while still remains a challenge for the world. Echinococcosis is one of the 17 neglected diseases targeted for control or elimination by 2050 by World Health Organization. This disease is an excellent example requiring One Health approach for its control and prevention.
