The world at present has been imbedding the Indo-Pacific construct. It has further been accepted not just in principle but also in policy—and has curated the Indo-Pacific strategy. Japan has been the pioneer in setting the stage for the Indo-Pacific strategy through their Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy which was later incorporated by India and by ASEAN, which has also created its own version of the Indo-Pacific Strategy. ASEAN has been the central point of convergence and the region can also be called the heart of the world while historically too, Southeast Asia has been the hub of the trading world joining South Asia to East Asia. In the same way, this chapter aims to create a Multilateral Maritime Economic Corridor based on Indo-Pacific Strategies, and this would be possible because India would be connected to ASEAN countries through Maritime Connectivity and ASEAN countries would further connect to Japan through the Maritime ASEAN Economic Corridor.

摘要
