India’s Look East Policy and later Indo-Pacific Initiative has been identifying the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as a pillar. India attaches great importance to ASEAN’s position as an important and prestigious regional organization in promoting and maintaining regional peace, stability, and cooperation, and pledges to keep supporting ASEAN’s efforts and goals on community-building processes, narrowing gaps, enhancing connectivity between ASEAN countries and India in terms of land, air, and sea, as well as digital connectivity. As a country that makes an important contribution to the development of ASEAN-India relations and cooperation, Vietnam is also an important participant in infrastructure connectivity between India and ASEAN. During the general integration trend globally, the Vietnam–India infrastructure connectivity, like it or not, has also become an important part of the ASEAN–India infrastructure connectivity and shares a common destiny and common challenges with the connectivity of the whole region.
