The Work-Study Program began to attract widespread attention among the Chinese people in 1919–1920 (the 8th and 9th years of the Republic of China), though it originated in 1912. It was most closely related to three organizations: the Chinese Society for Frugal Study in France (CSFSF), the Diligent Work and Frugal Study Association (DWFSA), and the Sino-French Education Society (SFES). Since the former was the most fundamental, it will be introduced (as outlined in New Youth).

摘要

The Work-Study Program began to attract widespread attention among the Chinese people in 1919–1920 (the 8th and 9th years of the Republic of China), though it originated in 1912. It was most closely related to three organizations: the Chinese Society for Frugal Study in France (CSFSF), the Diligent Work and Frugal Study Association (DWFSA), and the Sino-French Education Society (SFES).
