Management of Digital Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites
摘要
Cultural heritage conservation is at the heart of cultural heritage studies, and management is the key to achieving optimal conservation (Sun, Study on Natural and Cultural Heritage, 65(01):8–17, 2021). Moreover, according to Pearson and Sullivan’s (Looking After Heritage Places, 2013) study, “the presentation of the values of the places to the public through access and interpretation” is one of the four core objectives of heritage place management, and interpretation is one of the key tasks in the “implementing planned management” of a heritage site (Pearson & Sullivan, Looking After Heritage Places, 2013). In recent years, the interpretation and presentation of many cultural heritage sites have developed rapidly, and the introduction of digital interpretation and presentation technology has brought new complexity to the management of cultural heritage sites (ICOMOS, The ICOMOS Charter for the Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites, 2008). In this study, semistructured interviews were conducted with managers at the three selected sites to understand the implementation status of the digital interpretation and presentation project they are responsible for and their practical experiences and insights concerning the management process.
