With the advancement of technology, transcending various societal barriers irrespective of their caste, culture, religion, age, education etc; digital media has proliferated worldwide. However, the Internet has turned out to be both; an opportunity as well as a challenge for people with disabilities. Digital media sources available these days have the potential to empower the differently abled or the persons with disabilities. Digital divide is extensively noticed when we talk about the access to information in the digital world. For instance, many traditional websites and documents are not designed to be visually impaired friendly and are not accessible to screen readers. When it comes to navigating the digital landscape for visually impaired, latest assistive technology Chat GPT seems to be a promising help for the visually impaired and blind. The present paper tries to explore the lived experiences of visually impaired and blind in India using Chat GPT as an assistive tool. This study intends to examine the various motivations that incur among the visually impaired individuals for accessing Chat GPT. Moreover, it further analyses the interaction patterns and frequency of accessing Chat GPT by visually impaired. Furthermore, this study also scrutinizes and addresses the ethical considerations of using Chat GPT for visually impaired. This study entails the use of qualitative research. Under the exploratory research method in depth interviews and focus group discussions will be employed in order to gain in-depth insights from the visually impaired and blind.
