Stakeholders of Ecological Sustainability in Tourism
摘要
Tourism, although an important sector that supports economic development and fosters cultural interaction, also attracts attention due to its negative impacts on nature. With the expansion of mass tourism, environmental issues such as the overconsumption of natural resources, water and environmental pollution, excessive waste production, energy use, habitat destruction, and pressures on fauna and flora have increased cumulatively. In this context, it has become essential to maintain tourism initiatives and activities in harmony with nature. Sector-wide ecological sustainability, grounded in the cyclicality and renewability of natural systems, is crucial for long-term success in the tourism sector. Ecological sustainability is a multidimensional approach that requires not only the protectionProtection of environmental resources but also the active participation and accountability of both direct and indirect stakeholders in the tourism system. Achieving success in ecological sustainability necessitates the involvement of various sectoral stakeholders, including local communities, tourists, public institutions, businesses, the private sector, and civil society organizations. This study, therefore, aims to examine ecological sustainability in the tourism sector and to analyze the roles and positions of stakeholders that influence this sustainability.
