This chapter adheres closely to the original transcription of the early modern Dutch manuscript Kerke-boeck van Teyoan (1643–1649) covering a total of 152 manuscript sheets preserved in the folder Resoluties. It is organized as a semi-structured consistory record, characterized by dated entries, named chairmen and secretaries, and signatures of council members, including deacons and lay representatives. It records missionary activities, church discipline, and the organization of the Dutch Calvinist community, while identifying individuals across Dutch, Indigenous, and Chinese groups. Indigenous inhabitants appear mainly in relation to education, conversion, and local administration, whereas Chinese migrants are documented in economic and social interactions. The text also highlights the regular presence of VOC officials, underscoring the institutional distinction and interaction between ecclesiastical and colonial governance structures.
