This book chapter investigates the influence of English language proficiency on employability and job opportunities within the Palestinian labor market. English proficiency and English language teaching are increasingly recognized as a critical factor in enhancing graduates’ competitiveness in accessing high-quality job vacancies. The study employed a comprehensive bibliometric review methodology, utilizing PRISMA guidelines and VOSviewer application to analyze relevant literature systematically. The originality of this research lies in its focus on the language-employment nexus in a developing country context, offering one of the first bibliometric analyses of the English language gap and its implications for recruitment and employability. The findings indicate that graduates with strong English language skills are more likely to secure better job opportunities and attain more prestigious positions.
