Comparative Study on the Performance of Fire-Resistant Materials for Fire Containment Boom
摘要
With the frequent occurrences of marine oil spills, often concurrently with fire accidents, the fire resistance of oil containment booms has become one of the key technologies for ensuring maritime safety. This study investigates the selection of fire-resistant materials for oil containment booms, systematically comparing the performance of various materials in terms of high-temperature resistance and hydrophobic properties. Through laboratory tests and on-water fire resistance experiments, three materials were identified as suitable for the fire-resistant material system of oil containment booms, meeting the performance requirements of withstanding prolonged exposure to open flames at 1000 ℃. This research provides a scientific basis for material selection in maritime fire-resistant oil containment equipment.
