Introduction
摘要
This chapter introduces the Halal–Tayyib framework as a core design principle for medicinal chemistry, integrating Shariah values with scientific rigor across the entire process, from drug discovery to patient delivery, thus positioning Halal not merely as a final regulatory check but as a driver of safer, more transparent, and culturally respectful health care. The framework mandates the development of vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics with lawful sourcing, Tayyib purity, and transparent traceability, with compliance verified using modern platforms like mRNA technology, monoclonal antibodies, nano-biosensors, genetic sequencing, and AI oversight. These technical choices are explicitly linked to improving patient acceptance and public trust by enhancing traceability, lowering risk, and strengthening market confidence. Furthermore, the model extends its lens to crucial sourcing details (e.g., marine actives, botanicals, solvent selection) and introduces Halalopathy, a values-based framework connecting lifestyle, biocompatibility, and immune resilience, ultimately setting the foundation for harmonized standards and cross-disciplinary training that enable Halal principles to enhance innovation.
