Mapping the Future of Farming: Integrating Spatial Technologies for Sustainable Growth
摘要
Spatial technologies are having a large impact of sustainable agriculture, as they facilitate the use of data for site-specific decisions and promote environmental sustainability. Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and UAVs, farmers can develop finely tuned plans, keep track of their crops, and manage their resources—and their crops and their land. Using Internet of Things (IoT) devices and artificial intelligence (AI) farmers can now automate everything from gathering data to making smart, strategic decisions, to even predicting how crops will react to the change in climate. These technologies help to ensure sustainable land use, judicious management of water resources, and climate-smart management.
