The Diseases of Corydalis
摘要
Corydalis yanhusuo [Corydalis yanhusuo (Y. H. Chou & Chun C. Hsu) W. T. Wang ex Z. Y. Su & C. Y. Wu], also known as “Yuanhu,” is a perennial herbaceous plant from the Papaveraceae family, with medicinal properties attributed to its tuber. It is mainly cultivated in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, and Henan, with the highest quality found in Jinyun County. The tuber has an irregular, flattened spherical shape, with a yellow to yellow-brown surface and a net-like wrinkled texture. With a slightly bitter taste, it promotes blood circulation, regulates Qi, and relieves pain, commonly used for treating chest and abdominal pain, angina, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, postpartum congestion, and traumatic swelling. The primary diseases affecting Corydalis include downy mildew, sclerotinia, rust, and damping-off, with downy mildew being the most damaging.
