The Diseases of Artemisia argyi
摘要
The dried leaves of Artemisia argyi H. Lév. & Vaniot, a plant in the Asteraceae family, are known in Chinese as “Ai Ye.” The leaves are soft, with a fresh fragrance. A. argyi leaves are believed to have the properties of bitterness, warmth, and pungency, which are associated with the liver, spleen, and kidney meridians. Therefore, A. argyi leaves are commonly used to treat conditions such as hematemesis, uterine bleeding, excessive menstruation, cold pain in the lower abdomen, menstrual irregularities, infertility due to uterine cold, and skin itching. A. argyi is widely distributed across China, and major production areas include Hubei, Henan, Shandong, and Hebei. Common diseases affecting A. argyi production include powdery mildew, sooty mold, and leaf spot.
