Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Business: Challenges, Applications and Pathways for Responsible Innovation
摘要
Technologies are reshaping the global business landscape, enabling advanced data analytics, automation and personalized services. Industries like healthcare, finance, retail and cybersecurity are increasingly relying on tools, like machine learning and generative models to improve efficiency and decision-making. Cybersecurity has seen rapid adoption of these solutions. According to Sophos [1], 73% of organizations use deep learning for threat detection, while 65% implement generative systems in defence operations. While these tools enhance security, they also raise concerns about over-reliance, data integrity and accountability. More broadly, ethical issues ranging from privacy breaches, bias and opacity in decision-making processes challenge fair and responsible use. Biased data can perpetuate inequalities, especially when implemented at large scale. Frameworks including Responsible Research and Innovation and Explainable Artificial Intelligence offer avenues for aligning innovation with social values. This paper explores these issues across four sectors and proposes strategies for ethical, transparent and human-centred implementation of emerging digital systems.
