In the twenty-first Century, communication and collaboration are now essential for teaching in higher education (HE). With technological advancements and pedagogical shifts, HE teachers continually adapt their methods to engage students and establish a collaborative learning environment. By incorporating effective communication and collaboration techniques in their lesson plans, HE teachers may establish dynamic, inclusive learning environments that equip students for success into the twenty-first Century. However, teaching in HE in the twenty-first Century faces several communication and collaboration challenges. These challenges often stem from a combination of technological, pedagogical, psychological, interpersonal, institutional, cultural, and linguistic factors. For example, while technology provides numerous tools for communication and collaboration, integrating these tools smoothly into the teaching environment can be challenging; teachers may need training and support to use these tools effectively for educational purposes. This book chapter provides a more in-depth of the challenges raising from the ever-evolving nature of education, emerging technological developments, the diversity of student populations, and shifting pedagogical practices. Also, with the intent to overcome challenges in communication and collaboration in teaching in HE internationally, this book chapter provides a multifaceted approach to intervention solutions and highlights best practices. By implementing these intervention solutions and best practices, HE institutions can effectively address the challenges of communication and collaboration in teaching on an international scale, promoting a more inclusive, collaborative, and culturally responsive learning environment.
