This chapter analyses the educational reforms of four Southern African countries: Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, and Namibia. While each country has a unique context, there are regional similarities, such as the historical influence of colonialism and the growing recognition of the importance of developing twenty-first-century skills. The chapter also highlights the differences in educational policies and priorities across the countries, emphasising that the success of any reform depends on factors such as political will, resource availability, and the capacity of the education system to implement change effectively.
