Zimbabwe’s Quest for a Twenty-First-Century Education: Unhu/Ubuntu/Vumuntu and the Heritage

Like many African nations, Zimbabwe is striving to transform its education system to meet the demands of the twenty-first century. This chapter uncovers the complexities of Zimbabwe’s educational reforms, examining the ongoing efforts to integrate twenty-first-century skills and knowledge into the curriculum while also reclaiming its cultural heritage through the philosophy of Unhu/Ubuntu/Vumuntu, which means “I am because you are.”
