This chapter aims to share the volunteerism model applied by the Sustainable Development Response Organization (SuDRO) in Sudan using community-based and integrated approaches. “It will also highlight how this model has proven beneficial in emergency settings such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent war in Sudan. As a multidisciplinary framework, it brings together volunteers, local community members, and relevant stakeholders to address community health needs. By encouraging collaboration, mobilizing local resources, and integrating global expertise, the model helps build resilient communities capable of confronting adversity. Additionally, it will focus on how emergency events can seriously deteriorate both physical and mental well-being of which both need great attention to regain the normal function of that community. Through this experience narrative, we will also advocate for adopting a similar model in emergency response framework design through providing real-time success stories from utilizing this model in advancing community resilience and well-being.
