Hand Gesture-Based Control System for Home Automation Using Arduino and APDS-9960 Sensor
摘要
This paper presents a gesture-controlled home automation system that allows users to operate household appliances through simple hand gestures, without the need for physical switches or remote controls. Utilizing an Arduino Uno microcontroller and an APDS-9960 sensor, the system detects directional gestures—such as up, down, left, and right—to control connected devices. This approach is designed to be user-friendly, cost-effective, and accessible, making it suitable for individuals with mobility limitations and for broader smart home adoption. The system demonstrates reliable performance, offering a flexible, hands-free solution that can be integrated into various home and public settings, enhancing the smart home ecosystem's accessibility and convenience.
