Enhancing Online Learning in Smaller Institutions Through Digital Identity and Data-Driven Analytics
摘要
This paper explores digital identity and learning analysis, particularly in the context of smaller educational institutions. Digital identity refers to the online personas that individuals create through interactions on various digital platforms, encompassing personal information, online activities, and digital footprints that shape formal and informal learning processes. This paper examines how digital identities influence behaviour in online learning environments and how self-presentation, privacy concerns, and authenticity play critical roles in shaping these identities. In smaller educational institutions, the lack of in-house video content production often forces students to rely on external platforms like YouTube, where teachers cannot track progress. To address this, the Digital Identity and Learning Analysis Platform enables teachers to curate and upload high-quality educational YouTube videos to a centralized platform, with features such as progress tracking, quiz integration, student feedback, content recommendations, and AI-powered video summarization enhancing the learning experience. The paper discusses the platform's design, implementation, challenges, and opportunities while addressing ethical considerations and future trends in managing digital identities in educational contexts.
