Effectiveness of Core Strengthening Versus Elastic Resistance Band Strengthening to Improve Throwing Velocity in Throwball Players Using Kinovea Software
摘要
Background: In throwball, throwing performance includes throwing velocity and accuracy. In this study, core strengthening exercises were compared to the elastic resistance band strengthening exercise to improve throwing velocity in throw ball players. Aim: To find the effect of Core Strengthening and Elastic Resistance Band Strengthening to improve throwing velocity in throwball players. Methods: Players have been selected using inclusion and exclusion criteria. They were divided into 2 groups, Core strengthening group (n = 16) treated with Core Strengthening Exercises and Elastic Resistance Band Strengthening group (n = 16) treated with shoulder strengthening exercises for 6 weeks. The Kinovea software analysis of throwing velocity, throwing distance and CKCUEST muscular endurance was assessed. Result: The mean of Core Strengthening was found to be greater than that of mean Elastic Band Strengthening with a p equal to 0.0002. Conclusion: Core Strengthening shows significantly greater improvement in throwing velocity, throwing distance and muscular endurance than the Elastic Resistance Band Strengthening.
