The Great Fu (Da Fu) was an important writing style in the Han Dynasty. There were many authors who accumulated some noteworthy experiences. In the second volume of Miscellanies of the West Capital (Xi Jing Za Ji), Sheng Lan asked Sima Xiangru about the method of writing Fu-poetry. Although it was what a novelist said, it was true that some thoughtful and studious Fu-poetry writers could summarize their experiences in the conversation. Sima Xiangru said:
