Human-centered perceptual computing is an important method in human-centered artificial intelligence (HCAI), enabling artificial intelligence (AI) to understand human intentions and imitate human behaviors. It positions humans as the primary subjects of perception by integrating the machine's perceptual capabilities with human cognitive abilities. This approach not only enhances the model's adaptability and prevents AI from harming humans but also achieves a comprehensive and multi-perspective perception of humans and their living spaces, laying the foundation for the further development of smart cities, intelligent manufacturing, and other fields. This chapter discusses the concept of human-centered perception computing, elaborates on the development from traditional intelligent perception computing to human–machine intelligent collaborative perception computing, and proposes several important challenges and key research questions. Finally, it outlines future research directions in human-centered perception computing, such as perception mechanisms and user privacy considerations.

摘要
