The purpose of this study is to calculate organ doses for Japanese macaques. Voxel phantoms of six macaques with different body weights were fabricated, and internal dose-rate conversion coefficients for cesium-134 (134Cs), 137Cs, iodine-129 (129I), and 131I were estimated. As a result, it was found that there is a correlation between body weight and dose-rate conversion coefficients. A function of conversion coefficients to body weights was derived for each organ. Organ doses for 134Cs and 137Cs were estimated from the measured 134Cs and 137Cs concentration data of 246 Japanese macaques affected by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Point accident. Each mean of the internal organ dose was generally less than 191 mGy for absorbed dose. The effective dose for macaques was estimated using the tissue weighting factors for humans to be 158 mSv, which is quite higher than the effective dose for humans, reported to be less than 1 mSv.

摘要
