This chapter explores the Malaysian approach to transversal skills in primary and secondary education, contextualized within the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013–2025. Initially introducing transversal skills from a global perspective, the discussion then narrows to how these skills are operationally defined and implemented in the Malaysian educational context. The chapter examines the structural transformations initiated by the 2013–2025 blueprint, which brought about significant changes in national curricula, pedagogical approaches, and assessment strategies to enrich and support the core knowledge and skills of various disciplines. With the recent launch of the Malaysia Education Plan 2026–2035, the chapter anticipates further enhancements that will continue to advance the integration of these essential skills, preparing students for a future that transcends traditional boundaries and equips them for global challenges.
