Connections Between Participation in a Mini-Company Project and Creativity, Planning and Teamwork
摘要
The focus of this paper is on the relationship between participation in a mini-company project at upper secondary school and self-reported creative, planning, and teamwork skills. The mini-company project investigated is the Company Program, where students work in teams to set up their own company. The study involved 5002 students from Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Italy and Latvia. The study used a pre-test post-test design to compare students with high activity (100 hours or more), low activity (−99 hours), and no participation (control group). The results showed that students with high activity in the program had significantly higher scores on creativity, planning and teamwork skills compared to non-participants and those with low activity. In particular, the Company Program appeared to be a good teaching method for promoting planning and teamwork skills. Overall, this paper provides insights into some of the potential student benefits as regards soft entrepreneurial skills when participating in mini-company projects.
