Radiation Therapy for Benign Diseases
摘要
Radiation Therapy (RT) for benign diseases has seen a sea change since the X-rays were discovered. For selected cases, it scores over the other available treatments, and the details of radiation therapy for benign diseases are discussed in this chapter. The present-day technology permits safe delivery of radiation precisely to the target and hence comes with a better therapeutic ratio. The robust preclinical data on the use of RT for benign diseases has been carefully translated to practice via clinical trials. This needs to reach our colleagues from other specialities so that the right decision can be taken for a given patient
