Neurodegenerative disorders cause problems in the central nervous system resulting in progressive degeneration of neural tissues. Neurodegeneration causes progressive loss of neurons’ structural and functional integrity. It is estimated that neurodegenerative disorders have an impact on more than 50 million people worldwide. Recently, researchers from all around the world have been working on the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. Conventional therapies are either failed or inadequate to cure neurodegenerative disorders. Moreover, current treatments for neurodegenerative disorders are symptomatic without affecting the aetiology of diseases. Advancements in recent therapies support a potential role to overcome the gaps in the treatment of neurodegeneration. In this article, we aim to describe the gene therapy and immunotherapy being developed/developing to cure neurodegenerative disorders.

摘要
