Given the growing climate risks that disproportionately affect vulnerable coastal regions, livelihood resilience is becoming increasingly important. Livelihood resilience, which is defined as the ability of people, households, and communities to absorb, adapt, and change in response to external shocks, captures how communities manage compound stressors, which are those that result from environmental changes, socioeconomic pressures, and institutional weaknesses all at once. Due to geographic vulnerability, patterns of economic dependency, and ingrained societal vulnerabilities, livelihood resilience and climate risk interact acutely in Southern Thailand, especially in the provinces of Krabi and Nakhon Si Thammarat. To develop an empirically supported understanding of the lived realities of climate-related pressures, this chapter examines these crucial intersections using a rigorous, integrated methodology that combines household surveys, health vulnerability assessments, and mapping of the informal economy.

摘要
