Audiovisual translation (AVT) has emerged as a dynamic and interdisciplinary field at the intersection of translation studies, media studies, technology, and cultural studies. From traditional dubbing and subtitling to cloud-based platforms, interactive media, and accessibility-focused practices, AVT now encompasses a diverse range of modalities and contexts, each presenting unique theoretical, methodological, and practical challenges. As audiovisual content, including films, video games, documentaries, and digital media, continues to globalize, the need for rigorous research into how these texts are translated, adapted, and received across cultures has never been more pressing.
