Solution and Significant Analysis of Ice-Induced Vibration on a Platform in Liaodong Gulf
摘要
The offshore platform in Liaodong Bay, situated 15 km from the nearest coast, faces significant challenges due to harsh climatic and marine conditions. Since its commissioning in the winter of 2009, severe ice-induced vibrations have been recorded each winter. These vibrations, caused by the platform's structural characteristics, pose risks to both the structure and its facilities. Field monitoring and observations specific to this platform have been used to analyze these ice-induced vibrations. This paper presents the monitoring methods, key findings on vibration causes, and mitigation recommendations, which could enhance platform safety and serve as a reference for future offshore structures.
