In order to achieve effective real-time safety monitoring of Ferris wheels, it is necessary to design a simple and reliable real-time Ferris wheel safety monitoring scheme. To solve the above problems, this chapter used ABAQUS finite element software to carry out the static analysis of a Ferris wheel under two failure conditions, the failure of single spoke cable preload and the fracture of the weld joint of the wheel rim structure, and compared it with the normal working conditions to obtain the behavior of the Ferris wheel structure under the failure mode. It is found that the displacement of the wheel rim structure can effectively reflect the two failure modes of the spoke cable preload failure and the fracture of the rim weld joint, and the position of the failed cable and the fractured weld joint can be judged by the change trend. Finally, based on the above research results and the overall structure of the Ferris wheel, this chapter designs a real-time safety monitoring scheme using a displacement sensor.
