Folding of Post-bijawar Dykes of Central India Around Hirapur
摘要
The dykes form a significant marker to comprehend geodynamics provided the post emplacement structural modifications are considered. Most works on dykes are mainly confined to their petrology and geochemistry without much emphasis placed on their deformation. The dominant trend of dykes documented so far in Bundelkhand craton is NW-SE. In the present contribution, we report post-Bijawar dykes and their folding for the first time. Dyke planes and bedding planes of host rock have been measured at three locations along with 18 samples thin sectioned for petrography. It has been found that the dykes have suffered polyphase folding and are slightly metamorphosed. This folding has modified the dyke geometry and that NW-SE trend is attributed to deformation driven orientation.
