Educational Technologies as a Tool for Eco-Efficiency in Traditional Universities

Educational technologies represent a key resource for addressing global challenges such as sustainability and eco-efficiency in higher education institutions; however, few take advantage of them. This research, conducted in a traditional university, aims to demonstrate that educational technologies can be used to design and implement an eco-efficient, non-face-to-face tool in traditional subjects that benefit both the campus and its community. The research design was exploratory; the instrument used was adapting the Syllabus Guide from a previous stage; with the support of 10 professors from the 2024-II semester of different faculties, the guide was applied in their traditional teaching courses. Results showed that educational technologies facilitated the training of professors, the interaction between professors and students, among students, and the rapid implementation in the university community. It was concluded that, the tool based on educational technologies has high potential to promote environmental sustainability in a traditional university. The study proposes replicating and validating the educational tool in other courses and traditional universities to measure its impact on environmental performance.
