It situates contemporary change in a long arc of knowledge organization and social coordination, then analyzes how large language models, multimodal technologies, platformization, and workflow automation are expanding scope from discrete text operations to integrated task‑chains spanning localization, technical communication, data curation, user experience‑driven content engineering, and strategic consulting. Core service logic is shifting from post‑hoc linguistic execution to upstream design: architecture of multilingual workflows, corpus and terminology governance, model prompting and evaluation, annotation schema design, cultural risk mitigation, and ethical quality assurance. Human expertise is being reallocated toward orchestration, judgment in high‑risk or context‑dense scenarios, and conversion of unstructured discourse into reusable structured assets. The chapter delineates emerging competency clusters (systems thinking, data/AI literacy, multimodal interaction design, strategic communication ethics) and explains how hybrid human–AI collaboration produces adaptive feedback loops and new value metrics. It argues that professional identity is migrating from “translator” to “language system architect,” positioning language as a strategic substrate for knowledge integration, user experience innovation, and cross‑cultural governance in convergent media and intelligent ecosystems.
