Liquid-State Hydrogen Storage Tanks
摘要
The major challenges with liquid-state storage are the extremely low temperature of liqud hydrogen, boil-off losses, and cost-intensive liquefaction processes. Reducing boil-off losses is a key requirement when designing a liquid hydrogen tank. In this chapter, the materials and construction of liquid hydrogen storage tanks are discussed. More advanced methods in thermal control, double-walled vessels with a vacuum, multilayer insulation, and active cooling systems, are presented in this chapter. Some of the large capacity tanks installed at various global facilities are mentioned as representative examples.
