When different processing parameters were set, the shape, width, depth, and fluidity of the melt pool all affect the deposition quality of the component. Therefore, online monitoring of the melt pool is critical during laser deposition processing. Additionally, compared to post-processing methods for improving forming quality, real-time monitoring of the melt pool and online data collection can effectively achieve the melt pool state and thereby enhance deposition quality. Therefore, establishing a melt pool online detection and control system can reduce manufacturing costs and improve production quality [4–6].
