Numerical Analysis of Uniaxial Compression Test of Intermittent Jointed Rock Mass
摘要
In this paper, FLAC3D was used to study the uniaxial compression test on the specimen of the intermittent jointed rock mass with joint continuity factor 0.6. The characteristics include the strength and failure modes which change with joint inclination angle. Ubiquitous model was used to simulate the anisotropic behavior of the jointed rock masses and it was showing that the curve of the strength vs. the joint inclination angle is U-shaped, the lowest point occurred at the joint inclination angle β = 45° + φj/2 (approximately 60°). By using null element to simulate pre-existing open joints, the initiation mechanism was analyzed. The results showed that, with the joint inclination angle gradually changed from 0° to 90°, the concentration stress in the middle of the joints gradually changed from tensile to compressive, while the concentration stress in rock bridge gradually changed from compressive to tensile.
