Introduction
摘要
This introduction chapter outlines the purposes, scope, and structure of the book that investigates the journey of international students in Australia from tertiary education to skilled migration in the post-pandemic era. The various chapters examine key topics such as why Australia is an attractive tertiary education destination for international students, admissions processes, tertiary education transition experiences, internships, and employment and migration outcomes, which are increasingly prevalent in the international policy discourse. The book posits that the journey of international students from tertiary education to skilled migration in Australia is more complex and dynamic than it seems on the surface and highlights the significance of differences in individual aspirations and career narratives, and how they interact with the broader political and migration forces that contribute to the vibrant tapestry of international students’ courageous journeys.
