This chapter focuses on the policy development and practice of generative artificial intelligence empowering education in India. The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence technology has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges to the global education sector. As an emerging economy and a populous country, India has been actively exploring the application and policy support of generative artificial intelligence in the field of education in recent years. By sorting out the development context of the policy of generative artificial intelligence empowering education in India, analyzing its policy stage division and characteristics, and combining specific cases at the school level, it explores the challenges faced in the policy implementation process and puts forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions. Research has found that the Indian government has formulated multiple policies to promote the application of generative artificial intelligence in education, covering areas such as basic education, higher education, and vocational education. However, during the implementation of the policy, problems such as insufficient technical infrastructure, inadequate teacher training, and data privacy issues still arise. In response to these issues and challenges, suggestions such as strengthening infrastructure construction and improving the teacher training system have been put forward to promote the sustainable development of generative artificial intelligence in the field of Indian education. It is expected to provide reference and inspiration for other developing countries in the formulation and implementation of education policies empowered by generative artificial intelligence.
