With the rapid increase in electricity consumption across the country, the demand for the operation of power cables is gradually rising, making quality inspection of power cables particularly important. As a new type of environmental-friendly power cable, polypropylene (PP) cables still primarily rely on traditional testing methods for quality inspection, which are often time-consuming and costly. The near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy method explored in this paper serves as an innovative testing technique that enables rapid, efficient, and non-destructive evaluation of the elongation at break of PP cable insulation. After wavelength optimization by the CARS algorithm, the R2 of the PLSR prediction model can reach 0.988, with an RMSE of 9.58% and a prediction error of only 5.54%. This method is expected to be gradually expanded for use in factory quality inspection of PP cables, ensuring the safe and stable operation of electrical systems.

摘要
