This paper conducts a simulation experiment study on the ultra-high frequency partial discharge detection device for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Through typical partial discharge defect simulation experiments under different insulation dielectric, at different distances and discharge amounts, the amplitude of local discharge signals around 1m distance and about 1000 pC discharge amount was obtained. The research results show that the device can effectively capture the partial discharge signals of internal defects in the equipment, and the ultra-high frequency partial discharge signals show significant attenuation characteristics as the detection distance increases and the discharge amount decreases. This device has pioneered a new approach to live detection of partial discharge in high voltage equipment in open substations.
