Applying Green Solutions in Farmstay to Reduce Carbon Emissions and Promote Sustainable Agricultural Tourism in Emerging Countries
摘要
The application of green solutions to farmland to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable agricultural tourism plays a significant role in enhancing environmental efficiency and fostering sustainable economic development in the rural areas of emerging countries. This study was conducted in the Dong Nai Province, Vietnam, which is developing a robust farmstay model owing to its advantages of pristine nature, temperate climate, and sustainable agriculture. Research data were collected from 425 survey participants including tourists, farm owners, farmers, cooperatives, local governments, support organizations, and travel companies. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was employed to analyze influencing factors. The research findings indicated that the implementation of green solutions, such as energy management, sustainable transportation, sustainable production and consumption, and ecological buildings, has a positive impact on reducing carbon emissions. Furthermore, reduction in carbon emissions serves as an important intermediary in promoting the development of sustainable agricultural tourism. Based on these findings, several management implications have been proposed to optimize the application of green solutions in farm accommodation models, thereby generating long-term economic and environmental benefits for the local community.
