The term education has been used to describe divergent processes which have often been conflated with schooling and learning. Yet, schooling does not necessarily ensure either learning or education. UNESCO defines education as “the process of facilitating learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits” ( en.unesco.org , n.d.). This definition of education presents it as a broad psychological and social process, extending beyond knowledge acquisition to inculcating moral principles, faith and social enculturation.
